The Vineyard
Name
In Greek mythology, nymphs were nature spirits — alluring, untamed, and eternally young. Often linked to springs and water, they embodied vitality, seduction, and the quiet power of creation. Nymphomane draws on this mythic femininity — an elegant cool-climate blend that’s as expressive as it is irresistible.

Climate
Cradled close to the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyards of the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge are shaped by a cool maritime climate. Southerly breezes sweep through parallel mountain ranges, carrying mist and cloud cover into the valley — softening the summer sun and keeping temperatures deliciously even. With an average of 19°C and gentle rainfall around 750mm a year, this is a place where grapes ripen slowly, gracefully, and with natural poise.
Each varietal in the blend was hand-harvested in the cool, quiet hours of early morning — preserving freshness, purity, and the promise of layered expression.
The Harvest
Each varietal in the blend was hand-harvested in the cool, quiet hours of early morning — preserving freshness, purity, and the promise of layered expression.
Winemaking
After a night of cold storage, the grapes were de-stemmed and gently crushed into red ferment tanks. A cold maceration of three days allowed the fruit to open slowly, coaxing out colour and complexity. Fermentation took place under controlled temperatures until dry, after which the skins were lightly pressed and the wine transferred to French oak barriques (25% new) for 16 months of graceful ageing. Final blending took place one month before bottling, with the wine allowed a final moment of quiet in bottle before release.

Tasting Notes
A provocative blend of Bordeaux varietals from Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge and Elgin, Nymphomane is as structured as it is expressive. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provide dark berries, florals, and a whisper of dried herbs, while Merlot and Malbec bring ripe red fruit, flesh, and spice.
Juicy yet poised, with fine-grained tannins and a mineral core, this wine drinks beautifully on release and will evolve gracefully over the next 5–7 years. Pair with red meat, venison, or a decadent cheeseboard.
